Our Father...
Most Christians memorize this prayer at a young age before appreciating its significance. This prayer continues to be read/recited regularly by tens of millions every week, though few pause to recognize the treasures therein.
Let us bask in the light of this masterpiece, which was actually taught by “the Master,” and be shepherded on our path to salvation and sanctification.
“See what great love
the Father has lavished on us,
that we should be called
the children of God.”

In the Christian literary genre, this is a book which stands out for the amazing clarity and simplicity with which the deep truths in the Lord’s Prayer have been mined and expounded. Truly inspirational and illumining. A must read for those who desire a closer walk with our Lord.
While growing up in a Christin family Lord’s Prayer was taught to memorize for ever and I have repeated the verses several times in the past without bothering to understand the circumstances of, as well as the meaning and supplications in the prayer. Dr. Mathews ‘s book highlighted all those things as well as those words and sentences in the prayer are cross-referenced to the Words in different books of the Bible. It is very well written and absobs the reader’s thoughts and provide hope, peace, joy and enlightenment about one’s future.
Our Father presents the thesis that the well known Lord’s Prayer contains within it the traditional gospel message of sin, faith, and redemption. The author draws parallels between the prayer and numerous other biblical sources to show how it fits into the broader picture of Christian kerygma.
Well written , Dr Mathews takes us on the journey of better understanding the power of prayer. His writing style is unique and refreshing .
Jesus taught this prayer to his closest disciples. This
prayer was principally for those willing to follow him and
heed his instruction. Jesus provided his disciples access
to his Father and his Father’s Kingdom. He invited them
to be the first to
live out the good news:
“The Kingdom of my Father is at hand and available to you.”

‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come;
Your will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.”
